Roll With the Punches

Vest & Skirt: BooHoo c/o Park Avenue PR   |   Crystal Ring & Necklace: MojoMade   |   Hat: General Pants

Most days in my kind of life are like riding a roller-coaster. Sometimes you're heading uphill, knowing that the drop is coming... Remembering that the drop is exciting, but sometimes you're just not in the mood. One day you want to ride it with your hands up in the air, screaming your love for life - and other days there's a pang of anxiety about the dip - maybe you ate something you shouldn't have before... hehe.

You can wake up in the morning with a plan to 'take care of business' only to have it interrupted by a 'do this right now for a something that might possibly come to fruition later on'. You can kick off the week with the idea of a detox, but have a lunch long lunch meeting with someone creative that inevitably involves Sangria and deliciously un-detox-worthy food. You can start the morning with the brightest of outlooks that can be shot down within a minute of that 'one phone call' or email that dampens the mood.

For example... I had an entire load of washing stolen off my clothes-line the week of my birthday. That equals totally annoying. But the girls at Park Avenue PR heard about it and generously invited me to choose my favourite pieces from some of the labels they look after - so in the end, I got a nice little birthday present and a wardrobe-upgrade!

See? A downer turned into an upper... without the pills.
(But maybe now you get why I'm addicted to this roller-coaster life.)

So clearly, you gotta learn to roll with the punches.
You gotta go with the flow.
You gotta remember that in between the work and dedication - YOLO!

So make the work count. Make the art great. Live each moment with conviction.

And enjoy x

Get the Cool Shoe Shine

Made another live music video - this one is a track from my Borrowed & Blue EP - a cover over The Gorillaz song 19-2000. Remember this song? It's such a random choice to cover, I don't actually remember how I came up with it. So anyway, I've been pretty busy this week putting a bit of a set-list collection of songs together for my national tour of Australia that kicks off next week [get tickets here] - think I might have to play this one... And also probably wear this Somedays Lovin skirt at every show. I am obsessed.
Skirt: Somedays Lovin @ Market HQ   |   Top: Supre   |   Boots: ROC   |   Necklace: MojoMade

We set up for the day with my guitar and loop pedals at District 01 in Surry Hills - which is such an awesome little space to transform into anything you want. I've seen everything from Magazine launches, fashion label showings and The Little Treasures Markets set up in here - if you ever need a versatile space in Sydney for exhibitions or events, this is it.

This incredible rug is an original vintage, from DUST in Darlinghurst - one of the coolest hole-in-the-wall vintage stores I've ever squeezed into. You may have seen their goodies spilling out into the street, like in this post I did.

A Collaboration With The Iconic Magazine

ALL AVAILABLE @ THE ICONIC
August Street Pants   |   Spurr Booties   |   Somedays Lovin Tank   |   Atmos & Here Cuff   |   Triangle Necklace by FUN   |   Rings by Karen Walker

Recently, the gorgeous girls at The Iconic asked me to be part of The Blogger's Edit for The Iconic Magazine's spring issue. I decided to tackle a tricky trend for the season: The Printed Pants. This is the first look I put together, styled head to toe with incredible pieces all available now at theiconic.com.au

I haven't always been a fan of the 'drop-crotch' pant - I'm pretty short, and they generally make me look like a munchkin. But THEN I found this floral print pair by August Street which are equal parts girly with the floral brush-stroke print, and equal parts bad-ass. I'll admit it's not so often that I try something on and totally swoon over it... But with these, it's absolutely true love.

So how do you not look short with these? The trick is a pair of killer booties like these babies.
For extra bad-ass-ness.

Grab the Spring Issue of The Iconic Magazine for more awesome style tips, interviews, and all things fashion magazine related - it's out now and it's FREE!

My Birthday with The Rubens & Bonds

So you've probably gathered by now that it's been the most incredible birthday week month - the one that just keeps on going! To kick it all off (on my actual birthday Wednesday 21st August) I spent the night with some gorgeous bloggers and my man watching my fave band The Rubens for an intimate gig at The Bonds Bright Night Launch for their new Collectibles underwear...

Dreamy lantern moods at The Rook, Sydney

How nice of Bonds to put on a lolly bar for the birthday girl - dreams do come true! Hehe

And dessert from Gelato Messina? Well!!

Lucky for me, I had this guy to hang with too - photographer and actor-man extrordinaire...
Have I introduced you to my boyfriend / photographer / dream guy?
Well, this is Blair.
