Closing the Chapter of 2013

It's the last day of 2013 and I'm pawing through Spirited (YES you want this - get it here) gathering the last year of my life up into this blog-post, getting all my energies ready for a freakin' amazing 2014! Things are shifting... They have shifted. I have been making a transition into a new mindset this year and I feel like my feet are finally just lifting off the ground, ready to take flight into a whole new world of wonder and magic.

I got my Mojo back! And I cannot wait to share with you, all the colours and stardust filled dreams that are unfolding now that things have shifted but more on that in the new year... For now, I'm closing the chapter by looking back at the year that was. Not just closing a chapter for 2013 - but closing the chapter on everything that was before this moment. AND STARTING FRESH.

2013 WAS THE YEAR THAT I...
Released an EP through Sony Music. Toured Australia with Newton Faulkner. Made 5 music videos. Appeared on the Morning Show. Launched the MojoMade jewellery collection. Walked the Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival runway in Sydney. Made the cover of MX Magazine. Collaborated with The Iconic Magazine. Celebrated 6 years with my boy. Toured Australia again. Went to 4 weddings. Went on a cruise through the Pacific. Found freedom.

»☽∙ MAKIN' MUSIC ∙☾«
I kicked into 2013 in the Sony recording studio, making and recording my 4th EP Borrowed & Blue - but my first with a major label. If you haven't had listen - it's available worldwide on iTunes here.

»☽∙ TAKING A MOMENT TO BREATHE ∙☾«
For the first time since I left my home of Perth nearly 4 years ago, I realised all the beauty I had grown up with when I came back for a break and our close friend's wedding. I took a moment to step back, make some dresses, stand still with the ocean and have fun with old friends. I think time may have stopped for just a little while, to let me catch up...

»☽∙ NATIONAL TOUR WITH NEWTON FAULKNER ∙☾«
I first met Newton just after I moved to Sydney and since then on each of his tours down under, we've had crazy nights in Sydney with the usual suspects... What was so incredible about this tour was that all those peeps came out on tour. It was wiiiiiild and one of the funnest time's I've ever had. It gave me back something I had lost.

»☽∙ MADE A BUNCH OF VIDEO CLIPS ∙☾«
We got a bunch of friends together and came up with this little clip for my tune The Last High - filmed it over 1 night and a few bottles of wine.

And rolled out another bunch of live music videos of me doing my thang with loop pedals and instruments - you can see them all here.

»☽∙ APPEARED ON THE MORNING SHOW ∙☾«
I made an appearance on Channel 7's The Morning Show as part of The Style Squad - wearing one of the pieces from my jewellery collection (available online here)!

»☽∙ LAUNCHED MY JEWELLERY COLLECTION ∙☾«
2013 was the year when crystal magic entered my life - and WHAT A SHIFT it has conjured up... I launched The Elemental Collection - jewellery made with quartz crystals, designed and hand-created by me and sent to you, all over the world! The first few months of this new adventure have been INSPIRING and REWARDING like nothing I've ever done before. If you want to know more about my process - have a look here: http://etsy.mojomade.com

»☽∙ WALKED THE RUNWAY AT MBFF SYDNEY ∙☾«
I was honoured to be asked to walk for Market HQ in their debut show at Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival Sydney in August - what a crazy thing!!

»☽∙ THE ICONIC & MX MAGAZINE ∙☾«
I collaborated with The Iconic for a double-page feature in the spring issue of The Iconic Magazine and also appeared on the cover of MX in Sydney in the lead up to my next national tour.

»☽∙ CELEBRATED A 6 YEAR ANNIVERSARY ∙☾«
This man, my man is the most greatest, awesomest, incredi-gorgeous, amazeballs person I know. I'm a lucky girl to have him beside me... We've been to highest of highs, the lowest of lows and spent a night in the slammer together - he knows me for all my good and my bad and he's the co-captain of this roller-coaster ride we're creating together. Did I mention he's also a kick-ass singer and actor? More on that later :)

»☽∙ A NATIONAL TOUR ∙☾«
I hit the road again in September / October with Jordan Millar and Dave DiMarco for a national tour that travelled everywhere from Wollongong to Byron Bay. Ahhh yes... Byron Bay... That was a game changer. I had read my Tarot (with the Wild Unknown deck) just a few weeks before and it laid out some serious clarity of what was to come... And it came. And it is still coming. And it's wild.

»☽∙ CRYSTALS, MUSIC & NATURE ∙☾«
After touring and the inevitable post-tour-blues, I delved deeper into my crystal studies, spent more time with nature and began making new music - with a whole new perspective.

»☽∙ MARKET STALLS & MOJOMADE ∙☾«
Rounding into the last month of 2013 saw the first MojoMade market stall (of which there will be more in 2014), lots of packaging and posting orders and getting into the festive season for another Christmas away from home.

»☽∙ A CRUISE IN THE PACIFIC ∙☾«
And then, out of nowhere, as if we had conjured the whole thing up out of our imaginations - Blair and I got the opportunity to go on a cruise up through Vanuatu and New Caledonia. So we jumped on the ship and sailed out into the horizon and for the first time, I truly felt at home. In the arms of the sea.

And so, that's it. A year in review.
There's a lot of things I'm going to do differently in 2014.
And the first one is that I ain't gonna be no talker who doesn't walk the walk. No spilling of beans before magic is in motion shall happen on my watch!
After all - actions speak louder than words, so there's no big list of 'resolutions'.

There's just this shift that I'm riding.
Out into the wild unknown.

See you on the flip side, kids!

A Leopard on Bondi Beach

Dress: Spell & The GypsyCollective   |   Boots: Jeffrey Campbell   |   Bag & Belt: Free People   |   Hat: General Pants   |   Aztec Cuff & Atlantis Moon Necklace: MojoMade

The best thing about this time of the year is that there’s always a party, an event or another end of year Christmas celebration every which way you look. Pair that with the sunshine and summery nights of Sydney, and it all ties the year up in a nice little bow of awesomeness. On the flip-side, due to all this awesomeness, there just isn’t much time to blog-post and more importantly, there just isn’t much time to do anything other than the aforementioned activities.

So, my main man and I hit the Cleo Swim Party last week in Bondi. I'm not a huge fan of leopard print - until it comes to this Spell & The Gypsy Collective dress that I picked up whilst on tour in Byron Bay a few months ago. We snapped a few shots by the beach before heading to The Bucket List to stuff our faces with sliders and cocktails and watch all the Billabong bikinis walk the catwalk. Luckily this guy isn't too hard on the eyes, coz I was stuck with him all night - haha.

At the moment I am in the midst of wrapping up my 2013 in a nice little bow to set it all out to sea. Ready to bid adieu to all the yesteryears that lead up to this moment. Ready to shed some old skin, some unwanted karma, bad energies and heavy horizons.

So I've been a little preoccupied, doing this whole seismic shift in my life as of late, but luckily, my new chapter begins in just under a month and it includes some exciting things coming to this blog. So please, stay tuned and feel free to wrap up your 2013 or your chapters with me throughout December, I have a few interesting posts that I hope to get up before Christmas (however, I am writing this post from a cruise ship in the middle of the Pacific... So I don't know how much I'm gonna get done here!).

Spell & The Gypsy Collective | Byron Bay

Recently I featured my top 5 Blogs That Inspire The Wanderlust Gypset Within - stalk-worthy hubs that are exploding with style, home, life and travel inspiration. So I thought I'd go a little deeper into them individually and share why I like to disappear into their magical, mystical realms...

SPELL & THE GYPSY COLLECTIVE

Spell & The Gypsy Collective Store
1/1 Marvell st Byron Bay (Cnr Fletcher & Marvell St) NSW, Australia

The best part about Spell & The Gypsy Collective is that it isn't just a blog or place to disappear into dreamland in the online world. If you're in the Byron Bay area, you'll have the chance to wander into their bohemian-beach-vibed-rock-n-rollin'-flagship store... Where all the wild things play.

When I was on my recent National Tour of Australia with my music, I got to play dress-ups at the store and took a few magical things home with me including the Thunderstruck Cuff:
