5 Blogs That Inspire the Wanderlust Gypset Within

Lately I've noticed a shift. A change in the winds.
I've found it on my travels when laughing with strangers and looking towards new horizons. The connections with like-minded-travellers as we chat the magic of crystals and witness the hatchings of new collaboration ideas. It all seems so bright and malleable - these future memories and more importantly, this exact moment.

Sometimes though, the ways of the old creep in and a little piece of negative information gets through the crack. So on those days, I focus on replenishing my artistic soul in making jewelry pieces, reading books or playing my guitar. Listening to music with some good wine and colourful food and stalking my favourite blogs is more than enough to get me right back on track to the never-ending, sun-chasing road trip that is the Gypset wanderlust mind-set.

I'll be putting a spotlight on each of these inspiring blogs over the next few weeks, but for now, here's my top 5 to get you stalking!

There's some big changes coming into the flow of my life over the next few months and one of the major things to enter my life (even more so) is travel. And a LOT of it. So during my recent national tour of Australia with my music, I began making some notes on what works, style-wise. So, here's a few little tips to get you started when you're thinking about your summer road trips ahead!

Tip number 1 for the wandering Gypset Goddess?
Get your hands on a copy of Gypset Style and also Gypset Travel by  if just for the inspiration!

Tip number 2... Always wear your bathers.
Bikinis. Togs. One piece. Two piece. Swimmers. If you're heading on a coastal trip, it's inevitable that you'll find a beach at some point, or just a bit of sun - and the most important thing to keep your traveller's glow is to get a little Vitamin D.

Tip number 3... If you choose a fringed bikini top (as pictured) it can double as a top so you can save on packing space, and not worry about leaving watery-boob marks on your top! Hehe.

Tip number 4 is all about effortless style. A maxi skirt goes a long way because it can double as a dress if you pull it up over your chest - throw on a belt and you've got a two-in-one piece.

Tip number 5... Instead of a pair of plain Havianna's or old thongs (flip-flops), choose a pair of gorgeous strappy flats that will have you feeling beautiful no matter if it's breakfast, lunch or a dinner date you're dressing for. It would be wise to invest in something you'd be happy wearing everyday and every night, so be prepared to spend.

FLASH SALE | The Elemental Ring

The Elemental Ring is the first born creation that spawned my little jewellery making adventure. Hand-made with naturally-mined quartz crystals from Brazil - each ring is completely unique and conveniently adjustable. The Elemental Collection comprises of four main coloured Quartz crystals, representing the universal elements of Earth, Fire, Air and Water

My crystals are cleansed in the Australian Coastal waters to rid them of any negative energies, then bathed in the sunlight and each month, the full moon - to balance them with equal solar and lunar energies. When you receive your crystals, you will also receive information on the mystical powers your type of crystal holds and how you can program them to vibrate with your own energies.

Since working with these incredible little gems, many doors of perception have been cleansed and many wild dreams have floated into my reality. Exciting stuff really, this Earthly, cosmic magic.

Penny Lane Goes to Morocco

Top + bag + shoes by Free People   |   Large cuff & crucifix ring: Spell & The Gypsy Collective   |   Crystal cuff + Ring: MojoMade   |   Leo charm: Tara Wolf Chakra   |   Hat: General Pants   |   Skull ring: Lotus Mendes

A one day stop back in Sydney between Byron Bay and Melbourne shows on my national tour - Blair and I spent the morning at our favourite coffee hole in Sydney - Bay 88 in Rushcutters Bay. We had been like passing ships in the night with me on the road and Blair filming his first feature film (more to come on that later). Making plans and enjoying the shelter on the craziest spring day (complete with rain AND hail!) we couldn't resist taking a few snaps out the back of the cafe surrounded by the incredible orange staircase. (So apologies for the iPhone images).

Every time I wander past the back door of the cafe and see these glorious walls - I instantly feel a rush of excitement and wanderlust. I think it conjures up feelings of Morocco. My house is slowly filling up with orange, turquoise and purple combinations, which I'm taking as a subconcious plea to get on a plane and spend a year in Morocco. Something about the colours speak volumes to my psyche - and if we're talking colour energies, well that's a whole other story.

For now I'll just visit the orange staircase, fill my little cave with gypset desires and live vicariously through Penny Lane from Almost Famous.

"I've made a decision, I'm gonna live in Morocco for one year. I need a new crowd. Do you wanna come?"

Crucifix ring and incredible crystal glove cuff are little treasures from Byron Bay at Spell and the Gypsy Collective.
